We commonly treat and manage foot and ankle conditions. This can range from plantar fasciitis, ankle sprains, achilles pain, neuromas, flat arches, muscle strains and other ligament sprains.

PLANTAR FASCIITIS

PF/heel pain is the most common cause of foot pain. It affects the thick connective tissue that running from the big toe to the base of heel (plantar fascia).

Recent studies show that this is more a degenerative condition compared to inflammatory. 

Signs and Symptoms

  1. Localised heel pain that can stretch along the length of the arch
  2. Often worse first thing in the morning 
  3. Pain when contacting ground at heel strike
  4. Commonly sleeping on your front
  5. Flat arches or overweight

MANAGEMENT

  • Foot biomechanics– orthotics and/or strapping
  • Soft tissue release– calf and lower limb musculature
  • Lower limb strengthening– gluteal, pelvic and lower limb strength work.
  • Overload/ graded exposure- graduated loading program to allow for tissue adaptation.
